Spanish soprano Lorena Paz Nieto is with Royal Academy Opera, under the tuition of Philip Doghan and Audrey Hyland. She holds an MA-PrepOpera at RAM, achieving Distinction and a DipRAM for an outstanding final recital. She graduated with 1st Class BMusHons from GSMD.
Concert performances include: BBC Radio3 broadcast- Total immersion:Villa-Lobos at Milton Court and Tyondai Braxton’s Central Market with BBCSO at Barbican’s Music Hall, and with the London Sinfonietta at Queen Elizabeth Hall. And she will give a recital at the Oxford Lieder Festival in October and one at St John’s Smith Square in March 2017. Lorena has worked as soloist with numerous orchestras and Choral Societies across the UK. Recent oratorio repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Tippett’s A Child of Our Time and Orff’s Carmina burana. She has done recitals in Belgium, Spain, England, Italy, and France.
Operatic roles include Drusilla in Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazzione di Poppea at Shoreditch town hall conducted by Jane Glover and directed by John Ramster; Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro at Hackney Empire, conducted by Jane Glover and directed by Dame Janet Suzman; Pannotchka in Rimsky-Korsakov’s May Night at Ambika P3, conducted by Gareth Hancock and directed by Chris Cowell; Cis in Albert Herring at GSMD. She will play Morgana in Handel’s Alcina in October 2016, conducted by Iain Ledingham and directed by Olivia Fuchs and Diana in Offenbach’s Orphee aux enfers in February 2017 at the Hackney Empire, conducted by Gareth Hancock and directed by Martin Duncan.
Winner of the Oxford Lieder YAP 2016 and the Ludmilla Andrews Russian Song competition at RAM, finalist of Richard Lewis Award, highly commended in the Marjorie Thomas Art of Song Prize, Commended in the Elena Gerhardt Lieder Prize and Mozart competition.

Horacio López Redondo (Talavera de la Reina, Spain, 1984) began his musical education, which eventually led him to join the Conservatories of Ciudad Real and Madrid, at the age of 5 years old. In 2007 he finished at the latter his degree in Piano Interpretation under the direction of Ms Ana Guijarro and his Vocal Accompaniment specialization under that of Mr Juan Antonio Álvarez Parejo. After some years teaching in music schools and Conservatories in Spain, he joined the Royal Academy of Music in London to follow his higher education, enrolling in the MA Piano Accompaniment program with teachers Mr Malcolm Martineau and Mr James Baillieu. He graduated in 2013 with Distinction.
In 2013, Horacio was Highly Commended in the “Christian Carpentier Prize” to the Best Piano Accompaniment Exam at the Royal Academy of Music. In 2012 he won the Accompanist Competition as part of the Piano Festival “Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias” of Caernarfon, Wales. Also in 2012 he was awarded the Accompanist Second Prize at the “Ludmilla Andrew Russian Song Prize”, held at the Royal Academy of Music. He also was the recipient of a number of awards between 2002 and 2003 in young musician contests in Spain, including the First Prize at the “XV Concurso de Jóvenes Intérpretes Ruperto Chapí de Villena” (Alicante).
Since his arrival in London in 2010, Horacio has performed as an accompanist atsome of the most prestigious UK venues, including Wigmore Hall, Blackheath Halls, St. James’ Piccadilly, King´s Head Theatre and Southwark Cathedral in London, Canterbury Cathedral, Bristol Cathedral or The Venue at Leeds College of Music.
