Welcome

Dear friends,

carlosaransay1Welcome to the 3rd Festival of Spanish Song and Zarzuela. We are very excited to announce that our festival will now take place during a longer period of time, in fact, during the Autumn of 2016 and Spring of 2017. We consider that it will be much more beneficial for our audience to space out our events so that you don’t miss any of them! We now invite you therefore to the first half of our festival, which launches on 26 October with a concert dedicated to the centenary of the death of Enrique Granados. In fact we are commemorating two other centenaries as well: 400 years of the death of Miguel de Cervantes and 100 of the birth of Alberto Ginastera.

We feel privileged to continue our relationship with Instituto Cervantes, Song in the City and ILAMS, and to establish new links with the Guildhall School of Musica and Drama, Acción Cultural de España and with the Jackdaws Trust. We are ever so grateful to our sponsors and patrons for their help and for your loyalty.

We continue our mission of presenting the best of Spanish and Latin American classical vocal music and performers to London audiences. It is a real treat to welcome for the first time mezzo-soprano Elena Gragera and pianist Antón Cardó (wife and husband), Mexican baritone Ricardo López (winner of the first prize at the Trujillo International Singing Competition), tenor Jorge Navarro and soprano Lorena Paz Nieto. We are equally pleased to welcome again pianists Ricardo Gosalbo, Gavin Roberts and Horacio López Redondo.

We hope you will enjoy the Third Festival of Spanish Song and Music and will help us spread the word!

Queridos amigos:

Carlos Aransay, fundador y director.
